Getting Involved

| English |

If you would like to be involved in improving services for carers in Darlington, there are several ways of doing this.

Darlington has a local Carers Strategy and Implementation Plan, which is developed annually by members of the Carers Strategy Steering Group. This includes staff from Health, Adult Social Services, Children's Services and from the voluntary sector, including DAD’s Carers Support Service. The group meets approximately every six weeks.

We are always looking for more carers to join the group or to receive minutes, so that we can make sure that carers have a clear voice in deciding what should be included in the annual Implementation Plan.

You can also view a copy of the Carers Strategy and Implementation Plan 2007-08 (PDF document) and the newly developed Carers Compact (PDF document)

If you would like more information about the Strategy or the Steering Group meetings, please contact Lisa Holdsworth (Service Development Officer) on 01325 346490 or complete the following form - Request for Carers Service information

Carers also have the opportunity to express their views by joining the Carers Register run by the Carers Support Service. For further information please visit the Darlington Association on Disability website
