Wheelchair Information

Support and advice on hiring, loaning or buying wheelchairs is available from a range of sources.

Assessments are available for both manual and powered wheelchairs from the Wheelchair Clinic situated within Darlington Memorial Hospital. Telephone 01325 743861. Ask your GP to refer you or you can self refer. Assessments can be carried out at Darlington Memorial Hospital's Wheelchair Clinic. However, if you are unable to get to the clinic, home assessments may also be offered. If you are awaiting an assessment and need further advice please contact the Wheelchair Department on 01325 743861.

 

Buying and Borrowing Wheelchairs 

  • British Red Cross - You can temporarily loan a wheelchair from the British Red Cross for a small deposit – Telephone: 01388 451351.
