Customers with a key fob using the accessible change
- To access the accessible change, the customer is to hold the fob up to the keypad. This will change from a red light to a green light and the door will open
- Customers are then to press the circular pin inside the accessible change to automatically lock the door. The light next to this will be change from unlocked to locked and nobody else will be able to access the area (the override key can be used in the event of emergency)
- To leave the area the customer needs to press the circular pad again and the door will automatically unlock the door. The light will now display unlocked.
- In an emergency, there is a red pull cord within the changing area. Once pulled, this will alert the Dolphin Centre Reception Team that the customer using the area requires assistance
Note - if the customer needs the use of a hoist then they will have a carer with them. The hoist remote will be locked away at all times in the white box on the wall in the accessible change. The box will open however once the fob is put to the key pad next to the white box.
What to do in an Emergency
The Dolphin Centre staff will respond if the emergency call cord is pulled. Staff will assess the situation and if necessary call the appropriate emergency service.
Staff will be able to lower the hoist.
However staff should not routinely be called to assist to use the hoist. You are responsible for this and as part of the registration process, you have accepted responsibility for using the equipment.
If you are unsure please do not use the equipment. Seek advice from the Council's Moving and Handling Coordinator on 01325 346281
