The first meeting of the Community Partnership Forum was held in July 2003 and proved such a great success that Forum meetings are now held three times a year. The Forum provides a great opportunity for members from all of the Community Partnerships to learn from each other and share ideas.
A whole range of topics have been covered at past Forum meetings, these include:
- Town centre corporate development
- Diversity training
- Building good relations with people of different faiths and beliefs
- Health: stopping smoking, healthy eating and exercising
- Welfare rights promotion and quiz
- Information on the local development framework
- The role of the Community Development Worker
The agenda for the Forum meetings comes from suggestions put forward by members of the Community Partnerships.
The next Forum is on Thursday 17th January 2008 at 5.30pm till 8pm at the Music Forum in Borough Road and the theme is " The Sustainable Community Strategy". It’s about what you want in Darlington for you and your family over the next 20 years.
