Our Housing Advisory Officers offer a drop in service Monday to Wednesday 8.45am till 5pm, Thursday 1pm till 5pm, Friday 8.45am till 4.30pm, however, over the lunchtime period (i.e. 12.00 noon to 2.00 pm) you may have to wait to be seen. 

They offer a wide-ranging service to anyone wanting accommodation and especially to those who are homeless or in danger of losing their home.  Our Advisors try to prevent homelessness before it reaches crises situations, by talking and negotiating with private landlords and acting as mediators.  The key phrase is "Prevention is Better Than Cure".

They also provide specialist advice on:

  • Hospital discharge
  • Health issues
  • Ex-offenders
  • Young People
  • Domestic Abuse

False or Misleading Information

Don't give false or misleading information in order to obtain Council accommodation, you may be committing an offence under Section 214 of the Housing Act 1996 for which you could be prosecuted.

We offer a wide range of help, advice and accommodation for homeless people, but there are many other specialist agencies who can help...
