Young people - Leaving Care
We know that when you have been living in care and you now have to live independently, it can be frightening.
Our Housing Service and the Leaving Care Team in Social Services are here to help you and ensure that the move you make into independent living is easy and without problems.
If you are leaving care and need help or advice contact:
- Housing Options Advisors - for advice and assistance in finding a suitable place to live.
- Leaving Care Team- offering assistance to young people in readiness for when they leave care and how they will be cared for before they leave. They also help care leavers when they are living in their own accommodation and learning to manage budgets, live independently and take responsibility for being healthy and safe. The team work with young people until they are at least 19 years and often older depending on the needs of the young person and their wishes
