My Property is Often Left Empty
If your property is only lived in occasionally - perhaps because you live elsewhere at other times - you need to make arrangements for it to be secure and well maintained during your absences. You can take measures which will prevent your property falling into disrepair.
What Can I Do?
Arrange for the gardens to be maintained to a minimum standard.
Create the appearance that it is occupied e.g. hang curtains
Have repairs and damage that may have occurred dealt with promptly.
Have someone check on the property regularly
Leave a telephone number with a neighbour for emergencies.
Arrange adequate insurance
