Any private landlords who let property within the Darlington Borough.
How do I join the Landlord Accreditation Scheme?
You can apply to become a member of the LAS by completing the LAS application form (pdf document) or Please contact the Landlord Accreditation Officer.
When your application has been received the Landlord Accreditation Officer will undertake an inspection of your dwelling(s). If you have 60 properties or less we will inspect a random selection of six properties. If you have more than 60 properties we will inspect a random selection of 10% of the total number of properties.
Is there a membership fee?
No, we do not charge a membership fee.
Can letting agents join the LAS?
No, but they can join The National Approved Letting Accreditation Scheme. The National Approved Letting Scheme is an accreditation scheme that is open to all letting agents and estate agents who manage residential accommodation. The scheme sets minimum service standards for agents and requires them to handle their clients' money safely. More information can be found on the NALS website
