What type of accommodation is available?

The type of accommodation available is dependant on the client group.

Long-term Accommodation

Is mainly provided for people who have a learning disability, older people including those with extra care needs, and people with a physical, sensory or mental health needs. This type of accommodation is usually shared houses, individual tenancies or flats.

Long term means that clients can stay in the scheme for more than 2 years, and there is no maximum length of time to be receiving support.

Short-term Accommodation

Is for homeless people, those who are victims of domestic abuse, teenage parents, ex-offenders and young people leaving care. Accommodation is quite often hostel based, or individual flats located close together.

Short term means that a client can only receive the support for up to 2 years, and during this time alternative suitable accommodation should be found.

Floating Support

This is where a person has a tenancy with either the local authority, housing association or private landlord, and a service provider delivers support in their own home.
