Moving In
When you move in, we will give you:
You should have already arranged your gas and electric supplies to be connected before you move in to allow our gas and electric checks (Repairs on Letting) to be carried out. If you have not done this, you should not move into the property until the safety checks have been completed as this is a legal requirement and a health of safety issue. You will also be contacted once a year by letter to arrange your annual gas service, do not ignore this request as it is a legal requirement to check our appliances in your home and if you do not allow access you could be taken to court and incur costs.
Remember your tenancy starts on the date shown on your tenancy agreement. This is when you become the legal tenant. From then on you are responsible for the property and for paying the rent. We will visit you soon after you move in to see how you are settling in and to discuss any problems you may have.
You will need to get written permission from us to make certain changes to your home, these include changing the structure, removing our fittings, putting up structures outside, fitting laminate flooring, laying floor tiles and satellite dishes. If in doubt please contact us before you make any changes. If you remove fixtures or fittings, or carry out alterations without permission, we may ask you to put them back or restore them to the original condition. If we have to do this after you have left, we will charge you for the costs involved.
