How Does it Work?
The Lifeline consists of a small box similar in size to your telephone and a pendant or wristband, each with a red button. The small box is fitted close to your telephone and the pendant or wristband are worn by you around your home and garden. You may wish to press the button on your pendant or wristband to call for assistance in the event that you have an accident or a fall, feel anxious, or need help to contact your doctor and family.
The Lifeline gives you peace of mind at the touch of a button.
(Installation can only be made if you have an active telephone line and a three-pin wall socket close by)
Who answers the call?
When you press your pendant your call will be answered by one of our trained operators at the Darlington Control Centre in the Town Hall. They will ensure that you receive the help you need straight away. In an emergency, our Lifeline Response Officers will come to your assistance immediately and they will have details of your relatives, friends, GP or neighbours, who can be contacted if required.
How much does it cost?
The Lifeline charge is currently £5.06 per week. However, this sum could be reduced to as little as £1.75 depending on your financial circumstances.
