South Park is now looking amazing as a result of a fantastic £3.9million restoration project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The restoration of South Park is now complete, you can find lots of information about what has been done on the Restoration Update Page.

Lots of events have been planned for 2007, to find out what is going on visit the Stop press and events page

If you need any information that isn't on this site or have any queries please go to the Contact Us page and get in touch with the park staff. This page will also tell you where the park is situated.

For some of its history South Park was called "Peoples Park". Parks are about the people who use them and over the coming months and years we want visitors to feel that South Park offers something for everyone. We also want the local community involved in the running of the park. The new Friends of South Park group is helping with this and providing many with unique and fun opportunities to get much more involved.

Many schools from around Darlington have been showing great interest in what is happening. South Park has lots to offer schools with more lined up in the future with the new Education Centre. Go to our schools page for more information..
