Dolphin Centre Pool Hoist

We have a pool hoist for both the Training Pool and Main Pool.  Please ask on poolside for use and assistance.

Changing Village

Our swimming pool changing facilities have been refurbished creating a new Wet Changing Village.  This offers much improved access, which comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act and a modern changing environment.    For more details see our Changing Village Page.

Lockers

Our dry changing facilities are located on the second floor providing individual lockers.  All lockers take a £1 coin, which is refundable.

There are also individual shower cubicles and an accessible cubicle with temperature control, along with mirrored areas with hair dryers.

Dolphin Centre Lift

The public lift will take all users to any of the four floors.

Dedicated Breastfeeding Area

The Dolphin Centre is proud to be a key town centre breastfeeding friendly location and has been awarded the Breastfeeding Friendly Accreditation.  You are welcome to breastfeed your child/children anywhere within the Centre and our staff have received breastfeeding awareness training, so please do not hesitate to ask should you require any information.

We are aware that breastfeeding mothers may want to feed their child/children discretely and comfortably in private and we have a dedicated breastfeeding area within the Centre.  This room can be found at the top of the first floor to the right-hand side, just before you go through to the bar bistro area.

The Breastfeeding Support group hold a session within the Dolphin Centre on Thursdays 09:30 - 11:30; where advice and support is available.  You can talk to a health visitor and other mums and get your baby weighed.

Evacuation

'Evac Chairs' are available at the Dolphin Centre.

Accessible Parking

There are parking spaces available for customers with disabilities in the Town Hall car park.

Sign Language

Please call by minicom on 01325 380786 and let us know in advance so that trained staff are available for your visit.

An induction loop facility is in place within the Dolphin Centre's Central Hall and meeting rooms.

Telephone Interpreting

If you visit us and your English is limited, we can offer telephone interpreting by facilitating one-to-one phone conversations, using the language of your choice, with a qualified interpreter.

Literature in Large Print or Audiotape

All of our standard information is available at Reception.  If there is something else that you would like, we will do our utmost to provide it.

LiveDarlington Card

To find out if you are eligible for a concession on core activities please collect a LiveDarlington Card application form from our Reception, which lists all relevant criteria or download a LIVEDARLINGTON Card application form [pdf document].  All activities include casual swimming, Pulse Suite, health and fitness classes, including yoga and tai chi courses, climbing wall, badminton, squash, casual track, casual green fees and casual day tickets.  To be entitled to the concession all participants of an activity must have a LIVEDARLINGTON Card.
