Meetings and Conferences

The Dolphin Centre holds five conference rooms, each providing the customer with a variety of options for their conference needs. 

We can accommodate from two to 450 people in range of set-ups, as well as providing equipment requirements and other requests.

Conference Facilities

We now provide free Wi-Fi in all conference rooms.  To use the free Wi-Fi service you must provide your own Wi-Fi enabled Laptop; however we can still provide a projector if required.

All our rooms, apart from the Function Room, have a loop system installed.  Please let us know your requirements when booking.

We also provide fantastic catering facilities, tailored to suit your needs with options from breakfasts and energiser buffets to 3-course meals.

Rooms Available for Hire

Seminar Room

The Seminar Room is located on the first floor of the Dolphin Centre and is fully accessible.  The room is ideal for boardroom style meetings with a capacity of 34 people or 28 people allowing for disabled access.  The room can also be set up theatre style with a maximum of 60 people.  Presentation equipment; catering and refreshments are available on request.
Cost:  £27.00 per hour.

Meeting Room

The Meeting Room is located on the first floor of the Dolphin Centre, with a view of the historical St Cuthbert's Church.  The room is fully accessible and can comfortably seat 14 people.  Presentation equipment; catering and refreshments are available on request.
Cost: £18.50 per hour.

Function Room

The Function Room is located on the ground floor.  The room is fully accessible and can seat 20 boardroom style.  Presentation equipment; catering and refreshments are available on request.
Cost: £18.50 per hour.

Stephenson Suite

The Stephenson Suite is also part of the Register Service and is again used as a ceremony room for smaller weddings.  The Stephenson Suite can hold a maximum of 40 people theatre style.  Cost:  £27.00 per hour.

Central Hall

Central Hall is located on the second floor and is an elegant chandeliered ballroom, which is a fantastic venue for any large conferences or seminars.  The Hall seats up to 200 cabaret style or 450 theatre style and includes, PA; loop system and presentation equipment if required.  Quotes are given for this area depending on requirements.

London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games North East

On 21 November 2008 The Dolphin Centre was the venue for the above event.  Olympic Medallist, Steve Cram MBE addressed Local authority officers, councillors and key partners at the event organised by the Association of North East Councils.
