The Dolphin Centre offers an outstanding pool complex that includes an:
Eight-lane, 25m competition standard swimming pool; Training Pool; Interactive Toddler Pool; 1m, 3m and 5m Board Diving Pool; and two Waterslides.
The temperature of the pools is maintained between 28º - 30ºC, in line with industry recommendations. Our Toddler Pool is fitted with a heat exchanger which enables this pool to be heated individually. The temperature for this pool is maintained between 30º - 31ºC.
Our facilities include:
- 57 changing cubicles in total, 16 of which are the larger family changing cubicles and 8 have baby-changing beds.
- 19 showers in total, 7 of which are fully private showers.
- Separate male and female toilet areas – each of which has a private shower cubicle.
- 3 salon style hairdryers, these are free of charge.
- The space within the changing village complies with all DDA and Health and Safety regulations.
This means that there is enough room for a wheelchair and a double pushchair to manoeuvre and also provides enough space for a safe evacuation of customers in the event of a fire alarm.
Prams and pushchairs cannot be taken onto the poolside. Please use our buggy park provided next to our 'Under the Sea' Soft Play area.
There is a small locker charge of 20p and a refundable £1 deposit
For details of activities happening in our pool see our What's On Page.
All our pool lifeguards are qualified to the national standards required by The Royal Lifesaving Society [external link]. We expect the highest level of vigilance from our lifeguards at all times, providing a safe and secure environment for all our customers; and as such they are required to carry out lifeguard training at least once every three weeks.

Visit the toilet before you swim and always wash your hands after using the toilet.
You are required to shower before entering the pool - if everyone does this properly, it will improve water quality and reduce the risk of contamination.
All infants who are not toilet trained must wear an aqua-nappy. Do not change nappies on poolside.
If the pool is contaminated by vomit, blood or faeces, report it to a member of staff immediately.

You must get permission from management if you wish to take photos or videos.
Additional Swimming Lessons
Additional swimming lessons will be held in the shallow end of the main pool between 4pm-5pm Monday to Friday. This is to accommodate the waiting lists for children wanting to access swimming lessons.
During this time 18.5 metre lane swimming will still be available in the deep end of the main pool and further pool space will be available for family and casual swimming.
There will be a short set up and take down time required to change the layout of the lanes.
The diving boards and slides will be available as normal.
