Researchers welcome return of plans
October 2011 - Thanks to a generous donation from the Ken Hoole Trust an important book from the archives at Head of Steam Museum has been conserved, scanned and rebound.
The North Eastern Railway ‘Collieries, Works and Sidings’ Book from the Ken Hoole Collection dates from 1895 and is a much used resource in the Ken Hoole Study Centre.
The plans are regularly accessed by the public and were starting to show signs of damage after years of use on the railways and by researchers. The resource has now been preserved for future generations.
