Darlington Sports Development works very closely with a number of external and internal partners to develop sport and physical activity in Darlington. All of our partners play a significant role in helping us achieve our aims and objectives and over the years we have formed very important relationships with them.

We have briefly outlined below the background to some of our partners and the work they do and listed others that we work alongside. If you would like more information on the organisations click on the links.
Tees Valley Sport [external link]
- One of 49 County Sports Partnerships (CSP) in England.
- Umbrella organisation for the five local authorities - Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees and Redcar & Cleveland.
- Darlington Sports Development and Tees Valley Sport work very closely to increase participation in physical activity and sport.
Sport England [external link]
- One of three national agencies involved in the delivery of sport in England.
- Responsible for sustaining and increasing participation in community sport... reaching their customers through the Delivery System for Sport.
School Sport Partnership [external link]
- Groups of schools working together to develop Physical Education and sport opportunities for children of all ages.
- A typical SSP consists of a Partnership Development Manager (PDM), up to 8 School Sport Co-ordinators (SSCo's) and 45 Primary Link Teachers (PLT's).

County Durham & Darlington NHS [external link]
- Community Trust providing healthcare across County Durham and Darlington and surrounding areas, in hospital, at home and in community settings.
- A major partner of Darlington Sports Development through various projects.
