What is Darlington Community Safety Partnership?
Darlington has a long tradition of partnership working, both when it comes to community safety and in the wider community through the work of the Darlington Local Strategic Partnership.
In Darlington the Community Safety Partnership, (CSP) brings together a range of partners from the public, private and third sectors who are all engaged in activities which contribute towards making Darlington a safe place in which to live and work.
Community Safety Partnerships have at their core six responsible authorities who have a legal responsibility to work together to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse, environmental crime, and issues around re-offending. The responsible authorities group is responsible for ensuring that the Partnership has a Community Safety Plan in place setting out its’ priorities and key areas of action.

How does the Darlington Community Safety Partnership work?
The Community Safety Partnership (CSP) has recently restructured in order to provide a more effective and accountable mechanism for driving its work forward.
This has been achieved by creating a series of strategic theme groups representing the Partnership’s five key priorities for 2011-12. These groups report into the CSP Executive Board. A number of these groups also have operational groups underneath, responsible for the delivery of key actions set by the strategic groups.
