Fences, Walls & Gates

Conditions

Permission will be required to erect a fence, wall or gate if at least one of the following circumstances apply:

• It would be over 1 metre in height on any part adjacent to a highway that is used by vehicular traffic.
   
• It would be over 2 metres high elsewhere.
   
• The property is a Listed Building, or is within the curtilage of a Listed Building.
   
• There is a planning condition attached to a previous permission that restricts permitted development rights.
   

Points to Note

• If any structural work is involved, Building Control Consent may also be required.
