Darlington Retail Study

The Council commissioned a retail study of the Borough and its catchment area to inform the ongoing review of the emerging replacement development plan, assist with the assessment of planning applications and help in the management of the town centre.  It was published in June 2004.

The consultants Colliers CRE were commissioned by the Council to assess the potential impact of a Tesco hypermarket and this included bringing the quantitative assessments of the Darlington Retail Study up to date at October 2006.  Their report can be viewed or downloaded below.  It should be read alongside the 2004 study.
