Local Development Scheme (LDS)

Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) provides an overview of the development plan and supplementary planning documents that the Council intends to prepare to set out where new buildings, shops, businesses and infrastructure need to go in the Borough and what they should look like.  The LDS explains the purpose of each and the timing of their preparation, alongside the resources required to prepare them.

The latest LDS is for 2011-2014 [pdf document]) but this will be updated in late Spring 2012, once the Government has issued a finalised National Planning Policy Framework.

The timetable for preparation of the Making Places and Accommodating Growth (MPAG) DPD and the Town Centre Fringe Area Action Plan (TCF AAP) are both behind schedule, with consultations on Preferred Options for MPAG and the TCF AAP now both planned for Autumn 2012.
