Borough of Darlington Local Plan

Introduction

At the present time, the 'saved' policies of the Borough of Darlington Local Plan constitute the statutory development plan for the Borough. The Plan was adopted by the Council in November 1997. Alterations were adopted in September 2001 relating to land at Elm Tree Farm and Muscar House Farm, Whinfield.

The following policies and proposals expired on 27 September 2007, as a result of not being formally 'saved'. They should now be disregarded: E6, E19, E27, E28, E30, E31, E33, E35, E52, H6, H8, R10, R21, R22, S17, T2.

The Plan consists of a Written Statement (i.e. the text) and a Proposals Map (actually a set of maps).  The Written Statement sets out the policies and proposals of the Plan and the reasons for them.  The Proposals Map illustrates them on an Ordnance Survey base.
