Darlington Infrastructure Delivery Plan
The Darlington Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP) is an important document in the Local Development Framework evidence base. The IDP [pdf document] was published with the Submission Draft Core Strategy in January 2010. It identified all known infrastructure projects that are required to deliver the Core Strategy’s policies including physical, social and green infrastructure.
The IDP is a living plan and will be updated every April; the 2011 Update Report [pdf document] has just been produced. New infrastructure projects have been added while completed schemes have been identified.
In the future, the Infrastructure Delivery Plan will be an important part of the planning obligations process. Where projects identified in the Infrastructure Delivery Plan do not have sufficient funding to be delivered, planning obligations may be used to help provide enough funding for the infrastructure to be provided.
