The drainage works have been re-designed in Bondgate to overcome a conflict in location with an existing Gas main. With this issue resolved the paving in the first area is nearing completion. We will be opening this area to pedestrians at the beginning of February.

Northumbrian Water have installed the pipework and connections will be made during at the beginning of February. Works are progressing on High Row with the paving commencing on the higher level.

Prebend Row
The area has been planed to remove the asphalt and a larger planer removed the existing concrete foundation. Drainage works are then due to commence followed by electrical ducting.

Existing roadway has been removed along with general site clearance. Drainage has been installed and the Manhole Connection was completed on 1st Dec by NWL’s contractor. The first section of concrete foundation has been cast. Kerb laying has commenced.

Existing roadway and concrete slab foundation has been removed. Drainage has been installed and connected. The foundation has been concreted overlaying existing concrete in places. 108m² of paving has been laid and grouted on Bondgate.

Northumbrian Water has installed the pipework and connections will be made after Christmas. The temporary crossover ramp has been constructed in preparation for the works in the New Year.
