Woodburn Nursery - Whats Happening

In Partnership with Nubeck Nursery a garden is to be developed within the nursery grounds which when complete will be used to trial and test the following:-

      New Plant Varieties and colours
Innovative planting designs requested by customers
Plants grown in peat free compost

In addition the garden will be used for training and hopefully as a study area for use by schools

Currently one of the nurseries targets is to locate a suitable peat reduced compost in which to grow our plant requirements that maintains both the plant quality and uniformity . A trial was carried out using a selection of summer bedding using a peat reduced compost, the compost trialled is peat reduced by 10% using shredded bark as a  substitute for peat. The results were very positive and did produce a high quality plant although lacked in uniformity.
