Darlington Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership
Darlington Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) works to ensure that Darlington continues to be a safe place to live and work. Through a system of meetings, consultation, shared budgets and innovative projects the partnership gives additional benefits to the community it serves. The partners work together to deliver complex projects and support initiatives tailored to help reduce crime and fear of crime in Darlington.
The CDRP membership comprises the Police, Youth Offending Service (YOS), Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT), the Primary care Trust (PCT) and a number of other local, regional and national partners.
The Council's Safer Communities Unit coordinates the work of the of the partnership, facilitating meetings and managing budgets, and is responsible for planning and strategy for the CDRP.

Community Safety is one of the key themes in the Community Strategy and members of the CDRP Executive Board report to the Darlington Partnership Board. The Darlington Partnership [external link] website also explains the roles of all the major partners.
