Darlington CDRP believes that tackling anti social behaviour can have a positive effect on our communities and help reduce more serious crime.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Team is a dedicated team designed to deal with all aspects of Anti-Social Behaviour. From initially providing a responsive service to calls for assistance by members of the public to providing a professional witness service and witness support to residents who have suffered as a result of Anti-Social Behaviour.
The Uniformed Wardens provide a highly visible presence throughout Darlington 7 days a week between the hours of 12 noon to 10pm. Working within communities, Uniformed Wardens patrol individual neighbourhoods reporting incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour, environmental issues and community concerns whilst aiming to provide a reassuring presence and building links with community groups and individual residents and businesses. Additionally the Uniformed Wardens provide a responsive service to reports of Anti-Social Behaviour dealing with incidents as they occur as well as acting as professional witnesses in Anti-Social Behaviour cases.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Officers investigate the complaints of Anti-Social Behaviour and seek to apply any necessary enforcement against anti-social individuals to prevent further distress being caused to residents within Darlington. As part of the process to encourage residents to work with the Anti-Social Behaviour Team, the Anti-Social Behaviour Officers also undertake witness support and protection in any Anti-Social Behaviour legal case and will, where necessary and appropriate, preserve the identity of those providing evidence eliminating the requirement to attend court or to be subjected to any form of repercussions as a result.
