  • Register your property online
  • Keep windows and doors locked
  • Don't leave ladders or tools lying around the garden that a burglar could use to help them break in.
  • If you are going away consider leaving lamps on timers and ask a friend or neighbour to check in on your home and remove post.

Detection rates for Burglary are up, with forensic evidence taken at the scenes of Burglaries making it more likely that the burglar will be caught and convicted.

Statistics about burglary and other crimes are bought to a fortnightly meeting of senior Police and Council Officers; they then take appropriate action, where a hotspot is identified.
