Community Legal Service Direct is a new and easy-to-use service that helps people deal with their legal problems. It provides free information, help and advice direct to the public on a range of common issues.
Members of the public are able to use the service by Calling 0845 3454345
Darlington Domestic Abuse Forum. Provides advice, help and assistance to any women (single or with children) who are experiencing domestic violence. Most recently a new purpose built Refuge has been opened that provides women and children with a place of safety.

Shelter (Tyneside Housing Aid Centre): Shelter provides expert support and advice to people who are homeless or have housing problems. Casework services are also provided. Shelter provide a range of information sheets on local housing options and general information for the public on homelessness and housing issues.
