Employment opportunities

We aim to provide you with relevant training and experience to improve your opportunities of gaining employment.  90% of trainees gained employment after completing their time on the scheme and achieving their NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) with us.
We have companies within the Darlington are all providing valuable work experience.  They range from large organisations to small businesses.

Wages and Allowances

Learners receive Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) with 24 days paid holiday each year.   Employed apprentices receive a wage from the employing company and depending on the level of wage may have to pay income tax and national insurance.

Training Programme

In order to ensure that you are pursuing a course suitable to you, we offer different entry points to each programme. Entry to training can be at:
  • Pre-Apprenticeships gaining an NVQ Level 1 with City & Guilds Adult Literacy & Numeracy
  • Apprenticeship gaining NVQ Level 2, Key Skills and Technical Certificates with complimentary enhancements in some cases.
  • Advanced Apprenticeship gaining NVQ Level 3, Key Skills and Technical Certificates with complimentary enhancements in some cases.
