We arrange real work experience for you on placement in a local garage so that you may gain the skills needed to become qualified and pursue a career in Motor Vehicle Repair and Maintenance. We use City and Guilds as the awarding body.
Entry to Employment
To gain a place on this course you will be 16 to 18 years of age and may have achieved lower than average grades at GCSE or for some reason you may not have taken any examinations and have no qualifications. As well as NVQ Level 1, you will be able to work towards City and Guilds Adult Literacy and Numeracy
Apprenticeship
To become an apprentice you will need to have achieved average GCSE results. You will the work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Fast Fit Technician or Light Vehicle Maintenance, with Key Skills at level 1 and a Technical Certificate.
Advanced Apprenticeship
To become an advanced apprentice you need to have achieved a minimum of 4 grade C GCSE results, You will then work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance, with Key Skills at Level 1 and 2 and a Technical Certificate.
