The Heritage Line serves diverse communities on its route from Bishop Auckland to Darlington. The Partnership seeks to promote the use of the line, which formed part of the original Stockton to Darlington railway.

The Partnership steering group comprises Darlington Borough Council, Durham County Council, Northern Rail and the Association of Community Rail Partnerships (www.acorp.uk.com).

We are seeking to appoint a part time Community Rail Officer to help us achieve our vision for the line. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and experience in delivering projects.

The post holder will be based in Darlington but will be required to work at various locations along the line.

Supporting the work of the Planning and Economic Strategy Section, you will be involved in a variety of challenging tasks, focussing on progressing the Council’s Economic Strategy, Economic Assessment and the Integrated Regional Strategy. The post holder will have a proven track record of economic strategy development, programme management and will contribute to the development of an economic inclusion strategy, managing inputs to the ‘single conversation’, and working corporately across the Council and with partner organisations to maximise funding potential.

We are looking for a suitably qualified (NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Development or higher)- person to work in our Foundation/Reception classes alongside the rest of our highly effective team which consists of two teachers and a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. As well as possessing a relevant qualification it would be an advantage to have a sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and/or some experience of working with this age group.

Main Duties
· Working in the classroom alongside teachers and other teaching assistants.
· Working with groups of children on adult directed activities
· Preparing activities.
· Accompanying school parties on educational visits when required.
· Encouraging acceptance and inclusion of children with special needs.

We are looking to recruit a Temporary Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work as an integral part of our Home and Hospital Teaching Service. Your background could include working in primary or secondary schools.

The duties of this post include the reintegration of mainly secondary age pupils into mainstream schools and liaison with all Darlington schools to collect and return work for Home and Hospital pupils.

When not needed for reintegration, you will work with individuals and small groups of pupils who are unable to access mainstream education. We intend to run groups for anxious pupils, pupils with medical needs and pregnant schoolgirls. Many of our pupils are vulnerable and can exhibit challenging behaviours. You will work alongside the advisory teacher and two level 3 TA’s. You will also provide home tuition for mainly primary age pupils.

This role will be based within the Home and Hospital Teaching base at Morton Park training centre in Darlington. The hours are envisaged to be mainly in the morning, but can be flexible to meet the needs of the successful applicant and the service.

The Governor Development Unit is a busy and friendly team providing a range of support services to school governors within Darlington. Following restructuring, we are seeking to appoint an innovative and highly motivated individual to assist in the administration and further development of the Governor Development Service Level Agreement for schools.

You will carry out all administration associated with the Governor Training programme, including: liaising with trainers both within and outside the Council to agree dates for training sessions; producing flyers; booking venues and refreshments; taking bookings; sending out confirmation letters and joining instructions; collating attendance information and feedback. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of governors, for example, in the provision of information packs for newly appointed governors. You will be required to attend some governor training sessions, which usually take place between 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm, within the basic hours of the post (up to once per week during term time).

You must be able to form and develop good relationships with a very broad range of people, both within and outside the Council. You will also need to be able to work well on your own initiative, organise and prioritise your own work and have accurate record-keeping skills.

We are seeking to appoint a senior specialist educational psychologist to join our high performance team of creative educational psychologists as the lead practitioner in supporting the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. This post arises from commissioning requests from a successful Targeted Mental Health in Schools (TaMHS) bid and the implementation of SEAL.
