The service is committed to solution oriented and narrative approaches to promote inclusive practices within all settings and local communities. We deliver an applied psychology service based on consultation to schools and settings, and central and partner services within Children’s Services. This post arises from a successful bid for Targeted Mental Health in Schools (TaMHS)

Applications are invited for a Support Assistant to join the Directorate Support Team in providing a comprehensive and confidential secretarial service to the Director of Community Services and a team of Assistant Directors.

The main requirements of the post will be primarily undertaken at the Department’s main office at Vicarage Road (Monday to Wednesday) and Central House, Gladstone Street (Thursday and Friday). However, when necessary the postholder will be required to assist at two further locations: The Beehive (Lingfield Point) and Upperthorpe (Woodlands Road).

You will be a member of a small team providing typing and admin support for a wide range of services. Duties include audio typing, word-processing and clerical duties.

You should have experience in typing, word processing and arranging meetings. Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access packages are also essential, together with a typing speed of 50wpm and good accuracy and attention to detail.

An RSA Stage 2 Word Processing or equivalent qualification is desirable, although not essential.

We are looking for an administration assistant to join a very busy licensing team to cover for maternity leave from 01 April 2010. The initial contract will be until 31 October 2010 but may be extended to 31 December 2010.

Duties include receiving and processing applications and cash payments (both in person and by post) for a range of licences relating to premises, vehicles and people. Accuracy and attention to detail is important, as is experience in checking documents and also the ability to work to deadlines. Previous local authority licensing experience preferred.
