Darlington Borough Council is delivering its second Race Equality Scheme as part of its specific duties under the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000. The current Scheme is part of the Corporate Equalities Review and Plan. The aim of the Council's Race Equality Scheme is to ensure that all activity undertaken by the Council takes account of the diverse community it serves and the diversity of its employees. The Scheme seeks to eliminate discrimination in the Council's day-to-day practices. The addenda below give updates on key aspects of our performance in this regard.
