Education Safeguarding Officer

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional who has experience of working with children (e.g. social work, teaching, nursing) to work closely with schools advising on and supporting their safeguarding work. The post will work closely with broader children and families services and be based within the Education Services Department but will have very close links to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to ensure full education information on new referrals to the service. The post will work with designated child protection leads and LSCB to ensure training and dissemination of information is timely and meets each school’s needs, in line with this the post will have responsibility for children missing education (CME) and children who have become electively home educated (EHE).

You will have social work experience particularly in child protection, and an understanding of the current education system and legislation. You will receive regular supervision and support and access to ongoing training and development.
