The Council are currently looking to recruit to the newly created post of Vehicle Tester/Mechanic. The successful candidate will join the Council’s vehicle maintenance team based at our newly designed workshop at Allington Way, Darlington.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake MOT inspections to strict VOSA guidelines and also undertake Hackney Carriage and private hire testing to the required standards. The successful applicant will also be required to undertake maintenance on the Council’s fleet of vehicles and associated plant and equipment.

You must be a time served motor vehicle technician and be fully qualified in vehicle testing with experience of undertaking both MOT’s and hackney carriage testing.
