Do you want to be a Community Learning tutor working with adults or young people?

Darlington Borough Council employs tutors on an hourly basis. Potential tutors are interviewed and if accepted, you will be placed in a casual tutor pool, so you are ready to teach on both existing and new courses

We are very interested to hear from you if you have the qualifications and experience to teach adults / young people (including vulnerable adults and young people) on both existing and new courses.

We are currently particularly interested in tutors to teach:

- Health and Social Care
- Leadership and Management
- English
- Maths

and those with experience of Primary School Teaching and working with challenging young people.

Education Safeguarding Officer

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional who has experience of working with children (e.g. social work, teaching, nursing) to work closely with schools advising on and supporting their safeguarding work. The post will work closely with broader children and families services and be based within the Education Services Department but will have very close links to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to ensure full education information on new referrals to the service. The post will work with designated child protection leads and LSCB to ensure training and dissemination of information is timely and meets each school’s needs, in line with this the post will have responsibility for children missing education (CME) and children who have become electively home educated (EHE).

You will have social work experience particularly in child protection, and an understanding of the current education system and legislation. You will receive regular supervision and support and access to ongoing training and development.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for theatre and a commitment to developing and broadening access to theatre by both new and existing audiences, who will lead on the strategic delivery of audience development and participation activities at Darlington Civic Theatre.
