Year 12/13/14

student

What will Year 12/13/14 be like?

Help and advice from Connexions Tees Valley doesn't stop when you leave school. We'll still be there if you need us!

If you are in further education, we will:

  • Offer the opportunity of a group guidance session during year 12.
  • Give you access to a personal adviser for individual guidance at any point during your course, should you need it.
  • Give you advice on the financial support available to help you in learning.

The decision over what to do after your course can be very complex. Your main choices are to continue on to a higher level course in college, to go on to university, to move into a work training programme of some kind, or to seek employment with training! Along with the college staff, we can help you research the information you need to make your decision.

If you are in a job or training, we will:

  • Have an adviser linked to every local training provider.
  • Offer you access to advice and help via the staff in our One Stop Shops.

Settling into a workplace can seem very strange after school or college. We can support you during this time, and can also give advice on gaining qualifications at work, or on planning or your longer term career goals.

If you are unemployed, we will:

Let you register for assistance at one of our One Stop Shops or outreach locations
Offer you individual advice, guidance and support into all types of opportunity

We can advise about any benefits you are entitled to, and we have links with many other groups who can help you to solve other problems, such as homelessness, that you may face whilst not in work or learning. We have a vacancy service for local jobs and training opportunities, and can give you information about returning to education if you want to.

The Archway project

If you need some extra help to make the next move after school, the Connexions Tees Valley Archway programme could be for you. The Archway will help you to find out what you really want to do so you can start to find and prepare for the right training, job or college course.

Best of all, you can have a great time on the Archway! You can get yourself out and about, meet new friends and join in with loads of activities. Ask at your local One Stop Shop about the Archway.

E2E Training

E2E stands for Entry to Employment. E2E offers training, work placement and support. E2E can give you the confidence to enroll for the course you need and get the support to help you through. E2E only helps you in a 1-2-1 or small group setting. You only get what you want and need to go forward. So pop into your local Connexions One Stop Shop and make the move to get the qualification, work or training you need for your future!
