Types of Information we collect and how we collect them.
E-Vibe sometimes needs to know personal details. We only collect this type of information if it is essential. We use electronic forms to collect this information and it is up to the user ("you") of the E-Vibe website ("the Website") if you want to complete such forms
The types of information you may be asked for are:
- Name
- Address
- Mobile Telephone Number
- E-Mail Address
- Gender
- Age
- Interests
Uses of Information
There are certain parts of the site, `Ask Vibe' for instance, which you need to provide personal information in order for you to access the facility. You hereby expressly consent to Darlington Borough Council (DBC) collecting and storing this data by providing the information to DBC. DBC will keep a record of this information.
Any information you provide to DBC will only be used by DBC and will not be supplied to third parties (other than as specified herein) without first obtaining your consent. The only time we will do so is if we are obliged by law to disclose information.
We collect this information to enable us to keep in touch with our members and to confirm that they are living in the Darlington area. We will also use this information to mail out information about DBC, E-Vibe & Council events that are targeted at young people. Not all of our members will have access to e-mail at home so we need a postal address to send them information when they cannot be contacted by e-mail.
If you are under 12 you must get consent from your parent(s) or guardian before supplying us with this information.
Your Area - Your Interests and SMS
We will need to know in which area of the town you live and what your general interests are. If you provide us with this information, we will use it to improve the information that we provide to you.
As E-Vibe's services expand, there will be more opportunities to enhance the service provided to you.
From time to time we may contact you with details of other services and products which may be of interest to you and offer you the opportunity to view or receive information about them.
To register as a member and get access to the TEXTVIBE SMS facility we ask for an email address and/or a mobile phone number. It is not compulsory for you to provide this information in order to access the site however to use the SMS service a mobile phone number or valid e-mail address must be provided.
Contacting us via the website
If you use `Ask Vibe' to ask us a question or make comment that needs answering you must let us have your e-mail address or other contact information, so that we can send a response. Our contact details can be found in the `Contact Us' page or complete the online `Ask Vibe' form. If we can't answer your questions we will pass it on to someone who can. In this case, we will only let them know what the question was and nothing about who was asking it, once we have an answer back we will pass this on to you.
Chatrooms
As part of the E-Vibe development we will be having a chatroom. We will take all reasonable measures to secure and monitor the chatroom. There will be a moderator online when the chatroom is open. The moderator will not censor your comments but will not post any comment that is offensive.
In order to use this facility you must have a user name and password as well as have your youth club membership number (this is a unique number that is supplied to you when you become a member of any of our youth clubs).
Whilst using our chatroom please be careful not to give out any personal information for example your name, address, phone number, school or college or any other information that might let someone know who you are. You are reminded that chatrooms are forums for public discussion, and that any personal information supplied by you during these discussions is widely accessible. E-Vibe is not responsible for the content posted by users of these services.
YOU MUST NEVER ARRANGE TO MEET ANYONE IN PERSON THAT YOU HAVE MET IN THE CHATROOM.

From time to time we will offer you the opportunity to comment on the site and other services and ask you for views on the future development of this and other services.
Users Under 12
If you are under 12, please make sure that you obtain your parent/guardian's permission before you provide personal information to DBC via the Website. Personal information is any information that can identify you such as a telephone number, e-mail address or postal address. Users under 12 without this consent are not allowed to provide us with personal information.
Who is collecting the Information?
All the information collected is stored on the Councils secure servers and can only be accessed by properly authorised persons with a correct password.
How the personal information is used
All personal information is collected for a specific reason and we will tell you what that is. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information we will notify you by posting an announcement in our `Watch This Space' page.

We have taken all appropriate measures to keep your details secure and will not disclose any of it to any third party without your consent.

The Website contains links to other sites that are completely unrelated to E-Vibe. This privacy statement does not apply to these sites nor is DBC responsible for the content and practices of the Websites.
Your personal data
DBC will hold your personal information on its systems until you inform us that you wish us to remove it. You have the right to request a copy of the personal information DBC holds about you and you have the right to access your information held by DBC and where necessary, to have it amended. You can also ask us to delete, change or update your data at any time.
DBC reserves the right to charge for information requests.
