The Youth Opportunity Fund is a sum of money given to us by the Government to pay for young people’s activities locally.
This money is there for you to bid for things you’d like to do but haven’t had the chance to; things like residentials, DJ Workshops, arts projects and other projects which benefit young people.
The fund is managed by a group of young people from your area, who will meet to consider and discuss your application and decide on how the fund will be given out. This group will be working to a set of criteria (see below) to help them make those decisions, and you should follow these criteria when filling in this application.
There is also the Youth Capital Fund, to be used on things like decorating buildings, buying mobile resources and other items which may benefit the young people in your area. This fund is also managed by a group of young people.
The good news is you can apply for Youth Opportunity Funding and Youth Capital Funding for the same project (where it meets the fund criteria)
Read the funding criteria below, talk to your friends and/or group members about what you’d like to do, complete the application form and sent it in. If you find it useful, why not talk your form through with an adult - a teacher, a youth worker, a carer etc.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please email us at askvibe@darlington.gov.uk
GRANT CRITERIA
Applications:
- must be for projects involving young people aged 13-19
- must be completed by young people

- must have all sections of the application form completed in full

Following successful funding, projects must provide feedback to the Area Funding Group on the success of their project. Please don’t worry too much about this as we can help you with this when the time comes.
