Business Administration Apprentice

Employer: Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form
Hours: 37 hours
Salary: £122.10 per week

Do you enjoy working in a busy environment? Are you able to communicate effectively with a range of different people? Do you enjoy learning how to use new software? QE Sixth Form are looking for someone who will play an important team role within the College by carrying out a wide range of duties with the aim of producing a high quality support service.

The vacancy will require the successful applicant to carry out all aspects of Business administration including:

  • Designing, reproducing and administering a wide variety of teaching and learning and publicity materials using a wide
    variety of software packages
  • Assisting programme and subject areas in administrative and organisational tasks in their departments including setting up classroom displays
  • Providing support and advice to staff and students requiring reprographics services and ensuring all equipment is
    functional for daily use
  • Providing support as required to the MIS database of the college regarding student admissions and guidance information
  • Organising and maintaining manual filing systems for student records and other filing as required)
  • Processing College incoming and outgoing mail
  • Receiving and directing visitors to the College and handling enquiries as appropriate
  • Answering the telephone and directing telephone calls as appropriate
  • Dealing with queries from students, parents and staff
  • Carrying out general reception duties
  • Carrying out duties, commensurate with the position, as determined by the Curriculum & Administrative Support Manager or the Principal according to unexpected College needs

Training will be provided to achieve the following qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Business and Administration
  • Level 2 Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (as required)

Training will take place every other week at our Training Centre.  Here you will learn the theory elements of the course, gaining the knowledge to complete the qualifications.

Apprentice Business and Systems Administrator

Employer: Darlington Borough Council
Hours: 37 hours per week

Vacancy Details

Based in the Maintenance and Business Team located at Allington way Depot, this apprenticeship will enable you to develop a range of administrative and clerical skills. You will provide administrative support tasks including dealing with enquiries from customers and trades persons over the telephone, filing, scanning and other tasks related to administration in a large
organisation.

The vacancy will require the successful applicant to carry out all aspects of Business Administration
including:

  • To undertake a range of business support tasks such as managing your own emails, copying,
    scanning, faxing, archiving, post, answering the telephone and taking messages.
  • To be responsible for inputting and updating records both manually and electronically on multiple
    systems, including extracting basic information within set parameters.
  • To carry out basic audit and quality control of data input.
  • To deal with enquiries by telephone and face to face and ensure that they are dealt with effectively and
    efficiently, e.g. answering routine queries, signposting and taking messages where appropriate. 
  • To input, complete and update both manual and electronic standard format data, checking the correct
    information is provided and chasing missing data.
  • To produce standard reports and presentations. 

Training will be provided to achieve the following qualifications:

Apprentice Domiciliary Care Assistant

The vacancy will require the successful applicant to carry out all aspects of care for the elderly including:

  • Dignity in care and respect in all aspects of the role
  • Listening and responding to their requests
  • Feeding and bathing
  • Assisting with dressing and undressing
  • Assisting with medication as directed by the Manager
  • Providing a safe and secure environment
  • Carrying out day to day and household tasks – shopping, laundry, preparing meals
  • Completing records and paperwork as required

You will be expected to complete an Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care, and this involves:

  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (as required)
  • Care Certificate
