Policy, Procedures and Guidance

Safeguarding is the process of protection children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully. It includes both child protection and supporting children and families in need.

These procedures need to be used in conjunction with individual organisations guidelines. When you are in doubt about what you should do you need to consult with the safeguarding specialists within your organisation in addition to consulting these procedures.
