Planning application and permission
What planning permission is, when and when it's not needed, and how to get permission
As of 1 July 2017 we are no longer able to provide OS Site Location Plans, however there are a number of suppliers in the UK from which Ordnance Survey maps suitable for use in planning applications can be obtained. These can be bought online directly from Ordnance Survey partners [external link].
There is a change of procedure being introduced on 1 May 2016: ALL plans and drawings submitted in support of a planning application submitted from 1 May 2016 MUST indicate a title of the drawing, a drawing number; paper size (preferably A3); key dimensions; and a scale bar indicating a minimum of 0-10 metres. In the absence of this information applications will not be validated. In future the Council will issue decision notices to grant planning permission in accordance with drawings/plans and reference number identifier. Plans will no longer be stamped and returned to an applicant/agent.
