If you would like to be involved in improving services and support for carers in Darlington, there are several ways of doing this.
Darlington has a local Carers' Strategy and Implementation Plan, which is developed and monitored by members of the Carers' Strategy Steering Group. This includes staff from Health, Adult Social Care, Children's Services and from the voluntary sector, including DAD’s Carers Support Service. The group meets every six-eight weeks.
We are always looking for more carers to join the group or to receive minutes, so that we can make sure that carers have a clear voice in deciding what should be included in the annual Implementation Plan.
You can view a copy of the Carers Strategy and Implementation Plan 2013-16 [PDF document]
If you would like more information about the Strategy or the Steering Group meetings, please contact Lisa Holdsworth (Service Development Officer/Carers Lead) on 01325 405861
Carers also have the opportunity to express their views by joining the Carers Register run by the Carers Support Service. For further information please visit Darlington Association on Disability [external link]
