Coniscliffe Carving ClubConiscliffe Carving Club is a vibrant and friendly club whose aim is to promote and advance the craft of woodcarving. The Club was formed in 2000 when Alan Suddes and David Shires were discussing the number of people who carve alone in garden sheds. They thought it a good idea to form a club of like-minded carvers who could carve together and help other people interested in the pleasures of the craft. The Club now boasts over 60 members of all ages and abilities and is affiliated to the British Woodcarvers Association. Club members also have community involvement including visits to Phoenix House Recovery Centre in Catterick to give woodcarving advice and guidance to war veterans and service personnel. New members are always welcome.
