The Big Draw steams into Darlington

The Big Draw steams into Darlington
26 September 2016

The Big Draw will be steaming into Darlington this weekend as the Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum invites visitors to enjoy a weekend of drawing.

The museum has teamed up with the North Yorkshire and South Durham Decorative & Fine Arts Society (NADFAS) to host the event on Saturday and Sunday, 1 and 2 October, 11am-3pm.

Visitors, young and old, will be able to join in the fun by helping to create big drawings, stretching the length of the platforms. Normal museum entrance fees apply, but all activities are free and art materials will be provided.

Sarah Gouldsbrough, Acting Manager at the Head of Steam, said:

“We hope our budding artists will be inspired by the historic steam trains, travel memorabilia and the impressive Victorian architecture of the station’s interior. All ages and abilities are welcome to join in the fun.”
