Prevent is a UK government programme aimed at stopping people from becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism through early intervention and safeguarding.

Prevent is part of the UK’s broader counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST, and focuses on preventing radicalisation and extremism before it leads to terrorism.

Here in the Community Safety Team, we offer advice and guidance regarding any concerns people may have in relation to an individual who may be displaying signs that cause concerns in this area. This includes how to make a referral to the appropriate authority. This process is quite simple and does not criminalise an individual.
