Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the plug has no facilities for a fuse. The fuse is required to ensure the safe operation of the product under fault conditions, and its absence could lead to the plug overheating, shocking the user and/or exploding. The product also presents a risk of cuts, as it was found to have accessible sharp edges. Improvements are also required to the product marking, labelling and instructions.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The goods have been seized by the local authority and are awaiting destruction.
