Autism Strategy 2026-2029 Consultation

This autism strategy has been developed through partnership working between;

  • Darlington Association on Disability
  • Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust
  • the Integrated Care Board
  • Darlington Borough Council
  • input from autistic people and other key stakeholders.

It has been co-produced to help ensure that it reflects lived experience as well as service priorities. It is aligned with the government’s national strategy for autistic children, young people and adults: 2021 to 2026.

This is a partnership strategy and a requirement for local areas however it is not solely a Darlington Borough Council document. Darlington Borough Council will host the public consultation on behalf of the partnership so that autistic people, families, carers, stakeholders and the wider public have the opportunity to comment on the draft strategy.

Following the consultation period, feedback will be reviewed and incorporated as appropriate. The final document will then be circulated to lead members for consideration.

You can have your say by clicking on the green ‘leave your feedback’ button at the bottom of this page until midnight on Monday 17 August 2026.
