Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for those who would like to improve their confidence and look at ways to boost their self-esteem.
What entry requirements do I need to start the course?
There are no entry requirements for this course, only the enthusiasm to learn in a relaxed, friendly environment.
What is the curriculum intent of this course?
The design and delivery of the curriculum in this course will enable you to upskill and develop confidence which will help to raise your self esteem to enable further learning and employment.
What will the course cover?
Each week we will focus on different skills. The course covers:
- The benefits of exercise
- Stress management
- What can affect our mental health
- Looking after our family’s health and well being
- Recognising your own strengths and weaknesses
- Identifying different types of behaviour
The first session will include a welcome, induction and discussion of individual goals. During the course we hope your confidence will be increased, you will meet other people, make new friends and learn something new. A relaxed, informal atmosphere is encouraged. A different activity will be given each week for you to complete at home with your family.
What could I do when I have finished this course?
After this course has finished you may like to join in with other Family Learning courses or adult learning courses, including Functional Skills English, Maths or ICT. You will be given information about other courses and guidance on to progress during this course.
