English, Maths, ICT and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Do you need a qualification in maths, English or Digital Skills to gain employment or upskill in the workplace? Improve your skills and achieve a recognised Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2 (equivalent to a GCSE) qualification for free. We offer levels to suit everyone.
Have you recently come to the UK and English is not your first language? Or do you know someone who has come to the UK and struggles with English? Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses are perfect to help you, or them, to begin learning English.

We also offer online Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2, but this is subject to an assessment by our Functional Skills Team. This does require you to attend a face to face exam at our venue in Darlington, once you have completed your training.
All courses require an Initial Assessment (IA) and this can be sat by contacting Learning & Skills to complete it via one of the methods below:
- Attending the day time IA session on a Friday Afternoon
- Attending the evening IA session on a Thursday
- Complete it online anytime
