Learning & Skills offers a selection of clubs for those aged 19+. Learn new skills, meet new people and discover more in a subject that interests you.

French Club

This is a small, friendly club to practice your French conversation.

 

Whether you're a beginner, whether you have some knowledge or whether you're practically fluent in French, this group is the perfect place to learn (even more) French and develop your language skills. Develop and use your conversation skills to learn the French you need to know.

Learning & Skills has a strong history of teaching languages.Our small to medium sized groups allow you to practice your conversational skills with fellow students with the guidance of a fluent tutor.

Computers for Beginners

This is a beginners course for those who have never used a computer or those who would like to increase their very basic computer skills.


Do you, or someone you know, find the prospect of using a computer daunting? The Computers for Beginners course we offer is designed for complete beginners to the world of computers who may not have even switched on a computer before. This course will take you through the very basic steps of using a computer.

Computers Next Steps

This is a beginners course for those who already have experience with computers but would like to take their computer skills to a higher level.

 

Do you have a basic grasp of using a computer but you would like to know more about using the internet and other computer based software? This course is a natural successor to the Computers for Beginners course and allows you to master emails and the internet and introduces you to spreadsheets, PowerPoints and much more.

Distance Learning

Learning & Skills offers a selection of Level 2 Accredited courses for those aged 19+ who need a relevant qualification to up-skill within their workplace.

Distance Learning is a flexible way to study as you are able to choose when and where you study. Studying by distance learning has the benefit of allowing you to develop your career without having to worry about attending classes, childcare or making changes to your work. It also means that you can apply new knowledge and insights to your working life while you are still studying.

These courses are free of charge and you will complete the Modules in your own time (to set deadlines) away from a classroom setting. You must attend one enrolment session to sign the relevant paperwork, receive your deadlines and tutor contact details and to collect your free resource pack.

Family Learning

Learning & Skills offers a variety of Family Learning and Parenting courses for parents and carers to help them make a difference to their child's upbringing, increase their ability to support their child’s learning and encourage families to work and learn together in a fun and safe environment.

These courses are free of charge. Places are limited depending on the venue and courses will run subject to demand. Booking is essential.
