PREVENT and Counter Terrorism

The Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015 aims to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism. It highlights the need to be vigilant and that we are all responsible for safeguarding and promoting community cohesion.

The Prevent agenda includes:

• international terrorism,
• Islamist ideology,
• Right / Neo Nazi / White Supremacist ideology,
• Irish Nationalists and Loyalist paramilitary groups
• extremist Animal Rights movement
